The Lisboans isn’t your typical hotel. It feels more like staying in a local apartment, only better — where every detail has been carefully thought through. Each space is light and elegant, filled with Portuguese craftsmanship and simple, timeless design. Hand-made tiles, soft fabrics, natural textures — everything works together to create a calm and beautiful atmosphere. For us, as a family with two teenagers, it was ideal. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, yet it still felt cosy and connected. We’d have breakfast together in the apartment, chatting about what we wanted to explore that day before stepping outside into the city streets.
What we loved most about The Lisboans is how effortless it all feels. There’s a serenity in the details, fresh bread and pastries delivered each morning, the aroma of coffee in the kitchen, sunlight filtering through linen curtains. It’s that balance between comfort and curation that makes it so easy to settle in — you instantly relax into the space, as if you’ve been here before.
From Off-Grid to On-the-Go
Since moving from Antwerp to Portugal earlier this year, there are still days when we miss the city.. The buzz, the cafés, the feeling that something is always happening. Our teenagers especially sometimes long for that energy and freedom.Spending a few days in Lisbon gave us exactly that. The sound of the trams, the friendly rhythm of the streets, the light that hits every wall, it reminded us why we’ve always loved cities.Lisbon has this easy balance, lively but never stressful, full of life yet somehow calm. And every evening, coming back to The Lisboans felt just right. We closed the door, the city quieted down, and we were back in our own space — together, relaxed, and recharged.
